The course covers site assessment, load profiling, system sizing, technical drawings, Bill of Quantities development, and full physical installation, testing, and commissioning of mini-grid systems, enabling graduates to independently handle complete mini-grid projects from concept to operational handover while meeting all regulatory standards

Learning Outcomes

  • Conduct site assessment and solar resource evaluation for mini-grid locations
  • Perform load profiling and demand estimation for communities.
  • Size array, battery bank, inverter, and charge controller for mini - grids
  • Develop single-line diagrams and Bill of Quantities (BoQ)
  • Select components compliant with technical and regulatory standards.
  • Execute mechanical and electrical mounting for mini-grids
  • Complete DC/AC wiring and terminations.
  • Configure, test, and commission the entire system.
  • Connect to distribution networks and troubleshoot faults.
  • Manage end-of-life for system components.
